THE RIGHT STAFF is seeking a Staffing Specialist to work full-time for the next 3 months! Use your staffing expertise to support the scheduling and staffing of nurse unit shifts at a large hospital in Edina, MN. Ideal candidates will have 1-3 years of prior staff/scheduling experience.

• Pay $15-$17 per hour
• Located in Edina, MN
• Full-time; 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift
• 3 Month Contract

Responsibilities of the Staffing Specialist:
• Responsible for meeting the daily staffing needs of patient care units; utilizing human resources effectively to ensure patient care needs can be met
• Responsible for scheduling and staffing all unit nursing personnel
• Develop a schedule for all assigned personnel in accordance to employee s authorized hours, applicable contracts and HR policies each pay period
• Identify unit staffing needs each pay period and list open and available shifts accordingly
• Distribute employee schedules and open and available shift list to units
• Prioritize and problem solves scheduling and daily staffing for each unit to provide needed staffing coverage based on staffing guidelines
• Proactively adjust and document daily staffing by calling in, canceling, or floating employees based on unit volume and needs
• Accurately maintain an attendance record of staff
• Ensure that necessary information regarding staffing issues is relayed to nursing managers, staffing manager, and administrative supervisors as appropriate
• Participate in department quality improvement projects as assigned
• Prepare staffing reports to aid in the ongoing analysis of department staffing needs
• Maintain license verification for RN s and LPN s

Requirements of the Staffing Specialist:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• 0 to 1-year experience is required; 1-3 years preferred
• Must have a high level of communication and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to use PC, network applications, and staffing software
• Must be able to organize details, and maintain accurate records
• Prior knowledge of union contracts is preferred
• Must be able to work independently and provide excellent customer service to all levels of hospital staff, outside agencies and contacts.
