Payroll Specialist - Healthcare Industry - Hybrid in Bloomington, MN

This critical role will manage all aspects of multi-state payroll processing for bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and customized payrolls. The ideal candidate is an experienced payroll professional with a strong understanding of wage laws, taxes, and payroll best practices-who thrives in a deadline-driven environment and enjoys providing excellent internal customer service.

Essential Job Duties:
• Manage and guarantee accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and special payrolls
• Validate timekeeping systems and ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, and deductions
• Administer wage garnishments, benefits deductions, and income verifications
• Maintain payroll data in the HRIS system and ensure data integrity
• Prepare internal reports and respond to audit or accounting inquiries
• Monitor payroll-related compliance with state and federal tax laws
• Calculate internal pay programs (e.G., short-term disability, bonuses)
• Respond to employee and management payroll questions in a timely and professional manner
• Ensure year-end tax compliance and documentation (W-2, W-4, 941)
• Provide training and support to cross-train team members and ensure department coverage
Minimum Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Accounting or Business preferred
• 4-6 years of payroll experience, ideally in a healthcare or multi-state environment
• Solid understanding of payroll taxes, compliance regulations, and garnishment processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook
• Familiarity with ADP and/or UKG payroll systems, a plus
• Excellent math, data entry, and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Position Benefits, Pay, and Schedule:
• Location: Hybrid work schedule available after training (onsite in the Twin Cities Metro)
• Schedule: Monday to Friday - Full-Time Day Hours
• Pay Range: $65, 000 to $70, 000 annually, depending on experience
