Job Description

THE RIGHT STAFF is supporting a global manufacturing and biotechnology solutions company seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a 60-90 day contract assignment. This is an urgent hiring need - looking for talent to start next week!

This position will provide higher-level accounting support during a period of team transition, working alongside the Finance Controller and support staff. This role is essential to ensuring continuity across accounts receivable, sales tax, general ledger, and monthly reporting activities.

JOB DETAILS

• Location: Onsite - Brooklyn Park
• Schedule: Monday-Friday
• Terms: 60-90 Day Contract
• Compensation: $30-38/hr
• Background checks required before start

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts Receivable & Credit Management

Conduct weekly AR aging reviews
Communicate with customers to obtain payment updates
Prepare AR reports for internal U.S. Sales teams and corporate headquarters
Cash Flow Software - Agicap

Update and maintain cash flow data using the company's global consolidation tool
Ensure accuracy and completeness of entries from multiple internal sources
Sales Tax Compliance

Prepare and file monthly and quarterly sales tax returns across 16 states
Maintain accurate schedules and documentation for compliance audits
General Ledger & Month-End Support

Perform account reconciliations and prepare related adjustments
Enter and maintain manual general ledger journal entries
Financial Reports & Administrative Support

Assist with monthly sales reporting and business review presentations
Support with Excel reporting, PowerPoint slide updates, and other analysis as needed
Partner with the Finance Controller and temporary staff on additional projects during the transition period

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of G/L, reconciliations, AR, and journal entries
Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial systems
High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in manufacturing, distribution preferred
Prior experience handling multi-state sales tax filings
Familiarity with Agicap or similar cash flow consolidation tools
