THE RIGHT STAFF is supporting a Minneapolis, MN-based company with their search for an accomplished Human Resources Director. Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

Employee Relations Partners with management in complex employee relations matters. Ensures a positive working environment is maintained and employee relations issues are resolved fairly, consistently, and in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Champions initiatives to develop and measure company culture by utilizing effective change management communication and employee focus groups. Consults with legal counsel as needed to mitigate risk and strategically respond to employee relations and union matters that may have legal implications,
Compensation and Benefits Oversees and actively participates in decisions related to compensation analysis, market wage surveys, and benefit program design/administration. Ensures timely review of comp and benefits practices to maintain a competitive position in the market to attract and retain talent.
Labor Relations Works with Vice President of Operations, Union Stewards and Business Agent to resolve issues in a proactive manner. Provides guidance with CBA interpretation. Participates in the grievance and arbitration process along with Vice President of Operations and Labor Counsel. Works closely with Labor Counsel in preparations for negotiation of the CBA and is an active participant in the Collective Bargaining process.
Stratigic Guidance: Works with both local and corporate leaders to develop strategic ideas and guidance to assure the company is providing new and creative ways to conduct business and HR related topics.
Key Performance Indicators--Proactively creates and utilizes data to support and drive strategic human capital decisions. This includes reporting and analysis on headcount, turnover, safety, etc.) Consults with leadership team on evolving KPIs that are relevant and valuable to the business.
Talent Acquisition and Development - Oversee recruitment and retention strategies and activities, including candidate screening assessments, job description development, candidate sourcing, interview and selection and onboarding. Collaborates with leadership team in the design and implementation of programs to drive employee development.
Performance Management Consults with leadership team regarding employee performance, progressive discipline and performance improvement plans. Leads and facilitates peer panel discussions for the Minnesota division. Manages sensitive separations directly.
HR Policy/Compliance Drive consistency in administering company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal and state employment laws and regulations. Creates, maintains and communicates organizational policies and procedures.

Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:

Bachelor s degree required. Master s degree preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive Human Resources experience preferably in distribution, warehousing, manufacturing or sales environment.
5 years experience working with CBA s, union negotiations, grievance and arbitration roles is desired.
Demonstrable success ideally in a broad HR generalist or supervisory role.
SPHR certification preferred.
Previous experience working with a HRIS.
Valid driver s license and acceptable driving record required.
