Renewable Energy Financing Associate Attorney – Onsite/Hybrid in Minneapolis, MN 

Are you a newly licensed Attorney or have a few years of transactional legal experience? Do you have an interest in renewable energy, finance, or complex commercial transactions? Are you looking for an opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-impact deals with a clear path to partnership? 

THE RIGHT STAFF is assisting our Downtown Minneapolis client with finding their next motivated, detail-oriented Renewable Energy Financing Associate Attorney to join its nationally recognized renewable energy financing practice. This collaborative team represents investors, lenders, and tax credit buyers who help finance solar, battery storage, and other clean energy projects across the United States. Attorneys receive hands-on mentorship, meaningful client interaction, and the opportunity to work on approximately 150–200 renewable energy financing transactions each year. 

Essential Job Duties: 
  • Draft, review, and revise financing and transaction documents while ensuring legal compliance and client requirements are met. 
  • Provide legal guidance and strategic counsel to clients regarding renewable energy financing transactions and project-related legal matters. 
  • Review and analyze real estate, organizational, and project due diligence to identify legal risks and support successful project financing. 
  • Negotiate transaction documents with opposing counsel, clients, lenders, investors, and other stakeholders while protecting client interests. 
  • Manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines. 
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients and internal legal teams regarding transaction progress, timelines, and outstanding matters. 
  • Collaborate closely with experienced attorneys and legal support staff throughout all phases of each transaction. 

Minimum Requirements: 
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school. 
  • Licensed to practice law in Minnesota or eligible for admission to the Minnesota Bar shortly after hire. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong legal drafting, analytical, and proofreading abilities. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment. 
  • Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. 

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Coursework in tax law or a strong interest in tax-related transactions. 
  • Prior experience with commercial transactions, finance, real estate, corporate law, or other transactional legal work. 
  • Strong academic credentials. 
  • Interest in renewable energy development and project finance.

Position Benefits, Pay, and Schedule: 
  • Direct-hire opportunity with a highly respected Minneapolis law firm. 
  • Competitive compensation ranging from $200,000 – $260,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
