Affordable Housing Lending Associate Attorney – On-Site in Minneapolis, MN

THE RIGHT STAFF is assisting our Downtown Minneapolis client with finding their next motivated, detail-oriented Affordable Housing Lending Associate Attorney to join its growing national lending practice. This team partners with a leading financial institution to finance affordable multifamily housing developments across the country. Attorneys receive comprehensive training, immediate client exposure, and the opportunity to manage sophisticated loan transactions while working alongside experienced attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff.
Essential Job Duties:
Draft, review, and revise commercial loan documents to ensure legal compliance and meet client requirements.
Review real estate, title, organizational, and transaction due diligence related to affordable housing developments.
Manage multiple loan transactions simultaneously from initial documentation through closing.
Coordinate with lenders, borrowers, developers, title companies, and outside counsel to ensure transactions remain on schedule.
Communicate regularly with clients and internal legal teams regarding transaction status, deadlines, and outstanding requirements.
Build strong relationships with lending clients while delivering responsive, high-quality legal service.
Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff throughout each stage of the transaction process.
Minimum Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in Minnesota or eligible for admission to the Minnesota Bar shortly after hire.
0–3 years of legal experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong legal drafting, proofreading, and analytical abilities.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced practice.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with commercial lending, real estate transactions, finance, or transactional legal work.
Strong academic credentials.
Interest in affordable housing development and real estate finance.

Position Benefits, Pay, and Schedule:
Direct-hire opportunity with a highly respected Minneapolis law firm.
Competitive compensation ranging from $200,000 – $260,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Full-time, primarily on-site position in Downtown Minneapolis with limited remote work flexibility.
