Accounting Specialist - Part-time/Contract-Hire Opportunity!
THE RIGHT STAFF is seeking qualified candidates for our client, who is a well-established commercial construction company based in Fridley, MN. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy individual for an Accounting Specialist role.
This is a 100% onsite position, starting part-time and offering a clear path to full-time, long-term employment. You'll play a key role in supporting payroll, billing, certified reporting, general accounting needs, and office operations-working directly with ownership and internal staff.

Job Details:
• Weekly payroll processing for 30-33 union employees using QuickBooks and Paychex (job-specific time entries, including multiple job assignments per day).
• Timesheet processing from manual/daily logs
• Manage job-based time entry, prevailing wages, and certified payroll reporting for government contracts.
• Handle travel, mileage, per diem reimbursements, and union updates (e.G., wage/fringe changes).
• Use Procore for billing, including preparation of AIA forms.
• Manage job costing and progress billing on active construction projects.
• Data entry and general ledger management in QuickBooks and Sage
• Handle AP/AR transactions and assist with GL functions as needed
• Document and streamline current internal processes for payroll, billing, and general operations
Skills and Qualifications:
• Prior experience with QuickBooks, Sage, and Procore is highly desirable.
• Experience in construction or union environments (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of union payroll and construction industry billing practices.
• High attention to detail, investigative mindset, and ability to document and learn new systems.
• Comfortable working independently but collaboratively with leadership
• Technically proficient and comfortable with Excel, digital timecards, and general office software.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
