Controller - Direct-Hire Opportunity - Onsite in Eagan, MN

THE RIGHT STAFF is proud to partner with a long-standing, trusted Foodservice Equipment Distributor headquartered in Eagan, MN, in their search for a Controller to join their Accounting Department in either a contract/temporary capacity and/or long-term permanent position.
This is a hands-on role for an experienced Controller or Assistant Controller who loves solving problems, improving processes, and ensuring financial accuracy - not just managing people, but doing the work that matters.
JOB DETAILS:
• 100% Onsite - Eagan, MN
• Monday - Friday: 7:30-4:30 P.M. (flexible)
• Salary ranges from $100k to $125k annually + annual profit-sharing bonus

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Own day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, billing, collections, and inventory management.
• Complete month-end and year-end close processes; reconcile accounts and analyze the General Ledger.
• Prepare and issue accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to support business decisions.
• Maintain internal controls and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with management to resolve issues and provide actionable insights.
• Facilitate audits, prepare tax schedules, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; prior Controller experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems (FACTS/MITS experience a plus).
• CPA is preferred, not required.
• Must be comfortable in a small team accounting environment with a high-level of direct contributor responsibility.
• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
