Director of Accounting Finance - Direct-Hire Opportunity!
THE RIGHT STAFF has partnered with a leading global distributor to hire a Director of Accounting to lead the financial accounting function for North American operations. This hybrid role (3-4 days onsite in Blaine, MN, depending on the season) is ideal for a seasoned accounting leader who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is passionate about driving financial integrity and team success.
In this role, you'll oversee the general ledger accounting across multiple ERP systems, manage monthly closes, ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, and lead a talented team. You'll be a key strategic partner to finance leadership, auditors, and IT, contributing to process improvements and system projects that keep the business running smoothly and accurately.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee general ledger accounting across multiple ERP systems, ensuring timely and accurate monthly reconciliations
• Lead monthly financial close, partnering with Director of Accounting, Financial Reporting Manager, and FP&A leaders to deliver GAAP-compliant trial balances
• Analyze monthly financial results vs. Budget, forecast, and prior periods, providing meaningful insights
• Research and interpret U.S. GAAP updates, develop policies, and ensure compliance across North American operations
• Manage external auditor relationships and coordinate audit processes with no control deficiencies or adjustments
• Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting in partnership with shared services
• Lead and develop a team of 5 direct reports, including accounting managers and accountants
• Collaborate with IT on ERP system updates and testing for GL, Inventory, Fixed Assets, and Lease accounting
• Oversee periodic inventory revaluations across ERP systems
• Drive continuous process improvements and support special projects as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 7+ years of relevant accounting experience, including 2+ years in manufacturing/distribution environments
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including consolidations and foreign currency translation
• Experience with ERP systems like Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, S2K, and financial consolidation modules
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• CPA, CMA, or other professional accounting certification preferred
