Lighting Auditor - Direct-Hire/Full-time Opportunity - 90% Travel Requirement - Hybrid/Remote

THE RIGHT STAFF has partnered with a fast-growing, results-driven energy management company based in Plymouth, MN, and we are seeking motivated Lighting Auditors to join their expanding team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys travel, hands-on work, and delivering high-quality assessments of lighting and electrical systems across a variety of facilities nationwide.
Recent college graduates or professionals looking to transition into a different field with transferable skills are encouraged to apply. Comprehensive training will be provided. Candidates must be comfortable with extensive nationwide travel (up to 90%), typically Monday through Friday, visiting multiple sites each week.
As a Lighting Auditor, you will perform on-site evaluations, document lighting conditions, and provide actionable insights to help organizations improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs. This role offers autonomy, frequent travel, and direct interaction with project teams.
Essential Job Duties:
• Conduct on-site lighting and electrical audits, documenting conditions accurately.
• Prepare detailed audit reports using standardized templates.
• Communicate audit findings clearly with project teams and stakeholders.
• Schedule and coordinate travel to multiple audit sites each week.
• Track audit progress and maintain accurate records in shared tracking systems.
• Manage travel expenses responsibly, with reimbursement for business costs.
• Participate in training programs to maintain technical knowledge and audit standards.
• Support continuous process improvements in audit methodology and reporting.
Minimum Requirements:
• Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel extensively (up to 90% nationwide - Monday to Friday).
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's preferred.
• 0-3 years of experience in a client-facing, field, or technical role.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks independently while maintaining high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general tech-savvy.
• Experience with lighting, electrical systems, or energy efficiency projects preferred.
• Comfortable with physical activity, climbing ladders, and standing and walking for extended periods.
Position Benefits, Pay, & Schedule:
• 100% remote option for candidates not local to Minnesota; Hybrid option for local candidates (Minnesota-based) with 1 day in-office weekly (Friday).
• Base salary: $50, 000 annually (non-negotiable) + Company Bonus + Quarterly Audit Bonus (Performance based)
• Full-time, Direct-Hire position with Benefits
• Extensive nationwide travel (90%), typically Monday to Friday, visiting multiple sites per week
