THE RIGHT STAFF is aiding a research company in Minneapolis with their search for multiple part-time annotators for an 18-week or a 15-week contract opportunity. This would be a 100% Remote role, starting August 4th, 11th or 18th.
Candidates must have their own PC equipment and a high-speed internet connection. This role will be working around 15 hours a week and offers a flexible schedule (work on your own time). It can be worked during nights and weekends.
The purpose of this project is to annotate online websites, social media comments, and posts (50% positive and 50% negative) to describe and categorize the content for Machine Learning. This will include annotating both description types and emotional types of the content. Candidates will be reading and identifying a mix of positive and negative web content. Ideal candidates will have a history of annotation, proofreading, technical writing, or a history of text comprehension studies in academia or business. We need 12 candidates in total, for 3 groups of 4 people with start dates 1 week apart. Start Dates: • Group 1 - 4 people - Start week of August 4th - this group will work about 18 weeks w/training • Group 2 - 4 people Start week of August 11th - work for 15 weeks w/training • Group 3 - 4 people Start week of August 18th - work for 15 weeks with training Schedule: • Week 1 - 7 hours of Training • Week 2 - 5 hours of annotation + 1 hr meeting (weekly) • Week 3 - 9 hours of annotation + 1 hr meeting (weekly) • Week 4 - Project end - 14 hours of annotation + 1 hr meeting (weekly)
Note: The training and the weekly meetings are scheduled video calls and can be done anytime between 7am to 7pm CT. Training/meetings will be mainly based on the availability of each group member.
Minimum Requirements: • MUST BE Minneapolis/Twin Cities residents to be considered • 100% Remote; Must have your own equipment/Internet connection • Part-time with a maximum of 15 hours/week (Flexible hours) • Pay is $20/hr • Start August 4th, 11th or 18th • Must be able to meet for 7 hours of training as a team; split between 3 sessions during the first week. Job Details:
• Must be a native-level English speaker • Prior experience as an annotator or scorer is highly preferred • Must have excellent communication and writing skills. • Must have excellent computer and time management skills • Must be detail-orientated, annotator will be asked to spot nuances, inaccuracies, and inconsistencies in language to indicate specific spans within a sentence. • Must be able to work independently. • Must have their own equipment to work from.
