Support oncology patients, family, and healthcare providers as an Intake Specialist in a call center environment for a non-profit healthcare organization. Serve as the primary contact to coordinate care information with their care team and administration. Ideal candidates will have 2 years of medical scheduling or healthcare support experience, but we are open to any candidates with a medical terminology background!

• 2 Month Contract - September November
• Located in Minneapolis, MN

Responsibilities of an Oncology Intake Coordinator:
• Answer and coordinating all calls for new patients scheduling for the Oncology Service Line.
• Secure patient information relevant to the patient's appointment.
• Obtains internal and external records including but not limited to medical records, scans/imaging, and pathology slides
• Arranges for courier service when needed to obtain records
• Completes intake with as much patient information as possible to ensure patient registration, scheduling and insurance reimbursements
• Cross trains on disease information to allow coverage of all clinics
• Provides complete coverage to other department areas
• Research basic information and eligibility regarding clinic trails
• Offers appointments at multiple locations with the ability to schedule on templates
• Create and Maintain documentation
• Answer calls to patients in the referral center.
• Tracks all process information on excel spreadsheet
• Document the intake process in Epic for providers
• Document returned calls and communication
• Conducts patient telephone interviews, collects data, and assess and prioritize calls.

Requirements for an Oncology Intake Coordinator:
• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Two-year degree in the medical related field is preferred
• Must be able to be empathetic and provide professional customer service.
• Must have intermediate skills in Microsoft Suite
