Are you electrically and mechanically inclined? THE RIGHT STAFF is currently seeking candidates with strong Electro-Mechanical skills who have prior experience working on manufacturing equipment. This is a Direct Hire Field Service Technician opportunity with an internationally-based Equipment Manufacturing company in St. Paul, MN.

Join this growing company, and provide key electrical/mechanical support to their expanding client base throughout the USA. This position would involve heavy travel 70%-80% of the time. The majority of the travel is short-term within the Midwest region.

The Field Service Technician would be responsible for assembly, testing, installation, startup, upgrades, preventative and scheduled maintenance, software installation, calibration development and maintenance, troubleshooting and more.

Specific Job Responsibilities:
Support our sales and production operations by providing excellent technical support and customer service to all customers in person and over the phone.
Test, assemble, install, startup, complete preventative and scheduled maintenance, and repair on all of our products on-site or at our headquarters in an efficient and timely manner.
Communicate with customers and our internal production department to schedule and coordinate technical service on-site customer visits.
Provide software/network connections for our products to the customers PLC platforms and implement process control as required.
Demonstrate the use of all our products, train operators and develop training materials as needed.

Qualifications:
Clear, concise verbal and written communications skills.
Troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Comfortable doing training on-site and over the phone.
Ability to build long term relationships with customers and become the go to person for customers and co-workers.
Ability to work independently in a flexible environment and manage changing requirements and situations as they arise.
Capable of making technical and commercial decisions under pressure.
Knowledge of electronics, electrical systems and strong mechanical aptitude.
Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, kneel, crouch, lift moderately heavy objects, use tools and work in a demanding production environment that may include heat or cold, humidity and required uniforms or safety gear for extended periods of time.

Education and/or Experience:
Excellent working knowledge of electricity and electrical systems.
Prior Maintenance experience with Production/Manufacturing equipment is required.
Associates Degree in Electronics or Computer Science or Military Electronics or Computer Science Training a plus.
Ability to evaluate operating conditions of equipment.
Standard computer skills including MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
Advanced computer and network skills.
Ability to interact comfortably with all levels of internal and external customers.
Ability and self-motivation to manage one s own schedule.
Prior field service experience preferred.

Requirements:
70% or more travel is required, domestic and international (limited Training).
Flexible schedules: evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Valid driver s license.
