Do you have experience working in the Lighting Industry? THE RIGHT STAFF is currently working with a client in the Minneapolis area who is seeking a Purchasing Planner for a permanent position. This position will have daily interaction with sales representatives and project managers.

Purchasing Planner Responsibilities
• Provide customers with the best price, quality and timely delivery of materials.
• Learn lighting technology and apply knowledge to drive cost reductions.
• Repeatedly works with all divisions on process improvement.
• Supervise inventory administration for assigned accounts including; freight claims, change orders, shortage claims, excess material returns.
• Communicate with vendors to track shipping status of all inventory purchases.
• Ability to process accurate purchase orders.
• Communicate with a diversity of vendors to ensure that all time sensitive material needs are finished on schedule and within the financial plan.
• Oversee a material order tracking system as well reports for Requests for Proposals, vendor and logistic files, ensuring all regulatory guidelines are being met.
• Work with vendors, clients and internal departments to manage expectations especially in regards to project timelines.

Purchasing Planner Skills
• Detail-orientated, high degree of accuracy and ability to multi-task.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel.
• Analytical/problem solver who can assertively resolve conflicts.
• Able to work well in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Ability to work efficiently with limited supervision.

Purchasing Planner Education/Experience

• Bachelor s Degree in Business or related field.
• 5+ Year Purchasing or Logistics experience.
