TRS Consulting is supporting a Plymouth, MN based company with their search for an Accounting Assistant. This is a permanent position and ideal for college graduates seeking the next step in career growth and opportunity.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter that is driven to learn and take on new challenges as they arise. Candidates need to be willing to go the extra mile and value accuracy and business ethics. This position provides support in the day-to-day processes of the finance department.


Electronic and paper document filing and organizing.
Integrate Estimates and Job Budgets into the Finance software system.
Accounts Payable responsibilities, including invoice entry, sales and use tax compliance, vendor relations, inquiries and information requests.
Assist in composing and processing the weekly Accounts Payable check run.
Reviewing and reconciling of vendor statements.
Tracking of utility rebate payments, including documentation and resolution of discrepancies.
Scanning of documents and invoices and filing both electronically and physically with a high attention to detail.
Contacts vendors and labor partners to obtain job status and to acquire schedule information.
Follows-up on materials to ensure shipment and delivery on promised dates, tracks and traces shipments.
Works with customers, vendors and service providers to resolve discrepancies and other issues as needed.
Effectively brings issues and problems to the appropriate leader/department to ensure customer satisfaction and projects remain on schedule.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Proven/verifiable skills in Microsoft Excel for tracking and analysis
Able to work well in a team environment as well as individually
Detail-orientated, high degree of accuracy and ability to multi-task
Ability to work effectively with limited supervision
Analytical/problem solver
Ability to meet deadlines
Customer/client focused
Strong work ethic


2 years of experience in accounting or finance preferred
Experience Required
Customer service or administrative background with demonstrated ability to solve problems in a timely manner.
This position requires the ability to take direction from multiple people, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
